we made it through the first night, it was rather uneventful. at midnight bohdan indicated that he needed to go out, so we took him out, this was the first time we had seen him stand and try to move on his own.
after going outside he came in and wanted to go to bed, he led us into shari's
room, where he knew the mattress was on the floor. i tried to convince him to go to my room, but he would have nothing to do with it.
so i slept in her room instead of my own.
he spent the entire day tuesday on her bed. come midnight, he wanted to go out again, so out we went. when we returned he wanted a change of scenery so we went into the livingroom... and i could not convince him to move so i slept on the livingroom floor.
i would love to sleep in my own bed. maybe tonight he will be conviced to go there.
i left him along for the first time today, locked in the living room with the cone of doom on his head while i ran shari up to the BART. he seemed find when i came back.
tonight i will be going out to dinner for an hour or so, he will be on his own.
oh and he is putting more weight on his leg. i am not sure if he can get up on his own or not. he hasn't tried yet... or when he tries i always rush over to help him.
today bohdan had his second tplo. we are home just coming out of the drugs from surgery. we can tell that he needs to use the potty, but he can't quite get up.
we think he hurt his right leg on thanksgiving day. we had been seeing a lot of increase in his activities and he had lost 10 pounds he is now at 143... between thanksgiving day and today his ability to walk quickly declined. we saw the vet 2 weeks ago and he said he would like to wait 6 weeks to drop bohdan's weight, however he couldn't walk more thana block so we decided to do the surgery now.
bohdan had a partially torn ACL, the vet cleaned out the shredded ligament, and left the still healthy tissue. he seemed very pleased with the outcome of the surgery.
in one week we will remove the bandage, and in another we will remove the staples.
i will try to add pictures and keep the blog up todate with our progress.
