whoop! there he is. going back in the kitchen.
what could possibly be happening in the kitchen to get bohdan's attention away from the big-ass marrow bone he's chewing on in the living room?
well karine is in there, and she opened up the thing of hotdog buns. she tried to keep it quiet but it made a rustly noise and bohdan came running - as he always does for the sound of bread.
we've been experimenting over the last couple weeks with this. if bohdan is sleeping in the back room, get out the bread. here he is. if he's visiting the house in southern california, watching out the front door, get out the bread. he literally floats up from the slippery floor and there he is.
nothing is important as bread, and the sound of it brings him with almost as much alacrity as the sound of The Leash. but that's another story.
i took bohdan to fort funston this afternoon for a walk. we went along the same loop as our previous walks. i am not sure what was bothering him. bohdan started laying down about half way around the loop. he had said hi to a few dogs and some were obviously not going to say hello.
a beagle approached us and barked in his face. then we continued our walk.
when bohdan was resting he was apprcoached by a young English Sheepdog, the dog came up and sniffed him, and something changed and bohdan nipped him on the nose. i decided it was time for us to go home. I decided we would cut the walk short and we headed back over the ice plant and dunes. when we got close to the car we were approached by another dog, and he charged bohdan, who stopped sat down and barked at him. not sure what is going on with bohdan right now.
bohdan has been running and playing and body slamming with trillian and on saturday he looked like he had thrown out his back. so we went off to the chiropractor. His pelvis was rotated and afterward he seemed to be relieved but in pain.
it has only been 4 weeks since our last appointment, i had hoped we would make it 5 weeks. hopefully next time.
bohdan and i went to the quarry tonight, just as the sun was setting. there weren't very many people there and it was nice. although he didn't seem to interested in walking the path.
he seems to really like the well groomed/planted areas. everytime we have been there he seems to stomp through them.
bohdan then wanted to walk up to highway 1, where he stopped on the corner and watched the traffic go by. what a silly dog...
i took bohdan for a walk at the beach tonight after dark. he jumped out of the car just fine. i thought it would be good to see how he handled it. we walked our normal walk, and he rested at the far end. i think he just didn't want to go home, the walk back was full of rests, pulling in the oppostie direction of where i wanted to be going, and laying on his side so i would not be able to help him get up. he is resting quietly now, not breathing as heavily as he has the past few walks we have taken.
he did stop to pee and came down on his good leg in a strange manner but all in all he is doing well.
