theatrical events

the dream is shattered by so much input from fussy pets on wakking up, but I try to put it back together.

I somehow got involved in theatre in some generic urban environment. I sort of happened upon the production and got involved, even though I had no prior experience to recommend me. I don't remember what I was doing but I do know I had a bicycle as my transport to and from there. the director was a dictator.

it was the afternoon before dress rehearsl, and we were working on a scene in which everyone was lines up chorus-line like and various breakouts where to take place. people didn't really get it was a rehearsal and the director meant it when he said "don't move unless I tell you." every time someone moed he wrote down their name, and he had a cardboard box full of onions. I think the people whose names were written down were going to be forced to eat an onion, like it was an apple, later.

normally I like this stage in putting toegther a production, it's the last rehearsal before people are in costume and uptight and in front of an audience. it's the last time in a while you see things performed with confidence. in this, however that was missing.

i befriended someone involved who was actually transgendered - perhaps temporarily for an unercover assignment. the original gender was male and her name was Frank. she couldn't wait to end the assignment and switch back.

I had to leave and was supposed to be back before the evening to get my bike out of the way. I was late, and had to do some fancy talking to stay out of trouble and get my bike. I ended up going with Frank and a couple other crew to some other production or maybe a talk. a few rows in front of us was another set of people, including a cyborg. or maybe not. part of her body - most of it - very shiny titanium rods and levers and gears. the head was that of a girl, with 50's blonde hair...

Frank was in love. for this, he would stay as is. I got an idea and after the talk contrived to bring the two groups of attendees together so they could be introduced. the cyborg's name was Debbie. there was a kind of squirrely guy there who seems to be her keeper of sorts. I introduced Debbie and Frank and they started kissing right there. the squirrely guy and I also hit it off, and we were talking about what next when I woke up.
