biomechanical jack

I dreamt that jack had become a biomechanical construct somehow. he needed to do so in order to survive. somehow he was living outside the fringes of society but was still interacting thoguth LJ and other online activities.

he couldn't really maintain himself and such constructs are not that normal. over time various pieces of himself began to fail. he posted what was going on in somewhat of a panick. but everyone else was too busy to help. it felt like people were waiting with bated breath to see if he'd pull this one off.

he wasn't able to and bascially the core thought process that was jack faded out. the construct needed too much work, and the last straw was when its foot literally fell apart, with the inside part sliding off into a park and the rest of it starting to rust. I was there but could do nothing. karine was online watching and couldn't do anything either.

one of the friends he had in LJ actually was able to do something about the situation from back east, but since it was a weekend he couldn't do anything until monday. by the time monday rolled around, the lj username jacktwilley had been taken by someone else.

there was a swirling feeling to all this that I normally associate with reading cyberpunk novels. I sort of think of it as the dynamism of the net.

I went on to dream of the park having a small gathering of people with someone famous (debbie harry?) singing a capella and chrissy hynde in the audience with me coaching her along and drunk while I described it all on a cell phone to karine. then mo was there talking to me in bad latin and then the dog woke me up to go potty.
