the first part of he dream faded but involved a motorcycle race across fields in north-central alaska. the second part... starts with a motorcycle race across the southern part of alaska. I can see the dirt getting kicked up... it's three bikes. my perspective is aerial.
hmm, it's fading too. anyhow I am walking along the side of a field, late in the evening near sunset, and talking to someone, maybe on the phone but not in my ifeld of vision. I'm not sure the conversation is important... I get to a little ridge in the dirt road, and there's some water from irrigation gathered in the depression. and a cantaloupe... except the skin is more like a coral. I talk, and slowly roll the cantaloupe into the water, and watch the water get inbetweem all the ridges, then roll it to the dry part, and waych the water drain back off as if by magic. it's neat; I do this a couple times.
the next morning I am waling around our compound and I see in one of the taller buildings Sandy, Matt, and Lin (heather's dad) talking on one of the terraces. I'd wanted to talk to them and so work my way over to there they are. they noticed... I wanted to talk to Lin about documenting this thing I'd done about logging, teeing the log with this little fan device. he showed me where it was already written up. I left, slightly embarassed, and wondering why Lin was even there...
I went and talked to Leyla about x86, and she told me they had cut that from this release. she looked at me funny; my test setup was an x86. I said, I understand. there's only so much that can be done. she got offended, but I explained that if the deadline can't move, of course work ends up getting cut. I wasn't all that happy about it though.
I went back to my setup, which was outdoors, in the late afternoon. I look at the little fan. it's black, in the way dell computers are, and about 2.5" across. the fan has one circular flat face opening in a casing that curves back and has a flat bottom. turning the fan over, ther eare two relatively small holes in the bottom into which the plugs could be stuck, one fore data, one for power. I wonder about my work on the tee thing.
the next part faded but I am back in the farm house for the fields earlier. the house was set lower than the fields by about 2'. crosby is there and wanted out. I said wait a minute, and as I got up to go let him out, I cracked one of the windows, which rotated open horistontally, because it was stuffy. I turn to head towards the back door, and Karine says, wait. wait. Crosby sniffed at the open window, then clambered up and pushed it so he would fit, and hopped outside. we sat there incredulous. so that explains it. (what It was, I dunno.)
then I woke up.
