I dreamt I was about to go somewhere and I was cleaning my teeth. I had the sonicaire toothbrush in my mouth and as I looked in the mirror, my mouth was full of water. I looked closer and closer and the water in my mouth was a wide as a lake, with the waves lapping the sides. wide as the ocean.
suddenly I was cleaning my teeth one-handed. my left hand was holding me up and I was on the edge of a cliff that was made of the kind of rock along PCH near malibu. I was hanging from a projection that was out from the top lip, and there was a lot of iceplant. imagine pushing your arms up on the arms of a chair so your body is suspended in between. then only use your left arm. that was my position.
it was late morning and I was facing south. there was water on either side of me and I realized my back was to the mainland, and I was facing some sort of penninsula. about the same time I realized it would be really easy for me to overbalance and fall backwards to the ground many tens of feet below. I started to scrabble with my feet trying to get a better balance. remember this whole time I am cleaning my teeth.
I failed to get a good foothold and dropped to the ground below. there was a freshly paved highway and an offramp that went to the right of the cliff and sort of down. I dropped down and was then somehow on a skateboard careening out of control down this offramp. it seemed to lead to a vista point or some touristy thing like at either end of the golden gate bridge or maybe like near zuma and there were lots of parked cars and parents holding the hands of their children. I rolled down the offramp and started to follow the curve of the road around the dark side of the cliff and up the otherside (which of course was an onramp). I had to dodge hitting some of the people. as I passed them I heard some parents explaining what was happening and why it was important to questioning kids. that's nice, I thought. I wish I understood why I was compelled to do this.
I remember staying close to a solid white line. I slowed down a bit and it was a real challenge to overcome the gravity on the uphill part - the friction and dodging had taken its toll on my momentum. but I made it somehow, all the time cleaning my teeth with the sonicaire. I'm not sure what I was supposed to get for this, other than maybe an opportunity to rinse my mouth.
anyhow then I woke up. I note that I was definitely facing south, but the sun was to my back towards the mid-day. I guess I was in the southern hemisphere then.
