no title appropriate...

I was involved with the theatre district in the town I was in. there was a play we were trying to get set up and one of the backers was this asian primadonna with long red hair. one of the orgainzers was this guy who was like a charachiture of a real person, he was a cross between Barry at my work and John Leguizamo's character in Moulin Rouge.

the play was just an art piece. the theatres where were strange in that where you work on the stages/sets was towards the front entrance to the building, and the audience was seated towards the back facing the front. but anyhow we were having a cast & crew meeting when this backer and the Barry-like dude came in and were talking about how this relates to a play that was down the street earlier in the season.

I am not sure about all the turns of events next but what is important is that I ended up with this card, like a Tarot card, and it was powerful and Evil. I am not sure what I was supposed to do with it. I stuck it in a box of greeting cards Iit was smaller than them) between the cards and the envelopes.

later, it was like New Years' Eve. I was going out to dinner with Karine in some asian fusion retaurant. we showed up and were seated in an unusual place, and I realized the person I was supposed to guard this card from was waiting behind a wooden parition that was black with a white many-pointed star in the middle. sure enough, from behind this partition, came this person, with an overwhelming charisma, who wanted to see the card.

I brought the card out - the design on it was like a stylized The Sun in a Tarot deck; the sky was dark blue with the yellow sun partially showing in the upper right corner. it was incredibly vivid and vibrant, as if all the colours around me in the dream faded, except for the card, and the partition. and it emanated an Evil that matched this person.

I somehow managed not to give the card away and I put it back in between the greeting cards, where its influence was mitigated. the person withdrew.

after this Karine and I went to hang out at this arcadelike place. it was across several adjoining buildings. we were in the lobby of one and were drowned out by the sound, as the BART pulled in. we went upstairs and saw there was a platform. it resembled the way the Disneyland Peoplemover used to go through several of the other rides.

a Japanese diplomat was waiting to get on the BART and when he saw us he drew aside. he leaned on the rail away from where people were getting on and off the BART and wanted to talk. I don't remember what that was about. I think Karine got on the BART and went home.

I went downstairs and ran into Jack, from work. he was sweaty and slightly winded, as if he had recently been exerting himself. I wondered how someone could achieve that state hanging out in an arcade, and thought perhaps it was a symptom on extreme airhockey playing. he didn't say. I said it was getting late (about 10pm) and I asked him what he was doing for the rest of New Years Eve, and he said 'hanging out with you here, of course'. this implied that whole kiss-at-midnight thing and I asked what about his wife. he dismissed that concern and we went through a doorway into a darker part of the arcade with lots of pinball machines.
